The first stage is when the uterus contracts and the birth canal (cervix) opens. The second stage is the mother&#039;s labor to deliver her baby. Finally, the placenta is delivered after the baby is born. <em>Now<\/em>, the pushing process occurs when the mother enters the second stage.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">A sign that your body is ready to begin pushing is when the cervix is fully dilated to 10 cm. Contractions at this stage may feel different from the first stage. They may slow to every 2 to 5 minutes, while the usual contractions last about 1 to 1.5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">When contractions occur, you will feel a strong urge to push your baby out. You will also feel strong pressure on your anus.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In order to go through the pushing process smoothly, follow these tips, <em>let&#039;s go<\/em>:<\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<ul>\n<li>When you feel contractions, you may be advised to push to speed up the labor process. After all, for many women, pushing can actually make them feel better.<\/li>\n<li>Before and after contractions, it is recommended to take a deep breath and then exhale.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#039;t tense your face while pushing.<\/li>\n<li>Try finding the most comfortable positions for pushing. For example, squatting or lying on your side with your legs raised.<\/li>\n<li>When pushing, position your chin above your chest and pull your legs toward your chest. This position will help all your muscles work effectively.<\/li>\n<li>You can also use the muscles you use for bowel movements while pushing. These muscles are very strong and effective in helping your baby be born. You don&#039;t need to worry about passing stool while using these muscles, as this is normal and nothing to be embarrassed about.<\/li>\n<li>Use all your strength when pushing. However, at certain times, you may be asked to push gently. Reducing pressure can reduce the risk of tearing the vaginal wall.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#039;t forget to rest between contractions to regain energy.<\/li>\n<li>Use a mirror to see the baby&#039;s head. This can motivate and encourage mothers when they feel tired during labor. However, don&#039;t be discouraged if the baby&#039;s head, once visible, suddenly retracts into the vagina.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you&#039;re using pain medication (an epidural), the urge to push will be less intense than if you&#039;re not using medication. You may not even feel the urge to push at all. If you experience this, you may want to ask your medical team to guide you through pushing. There&#039;s no need to worry, as most women who use pain medication can push effectively.<\/p><\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\">The stages of pushing, or the process of delivering a baby, vary depending on the condition of the mother and baby. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to hours. If, after pushing, the baby isn&#039;t delivered, either due to exhaustion and inability to push or an abnormal position, the medical team can assist in delivering the baby.
