In celebration of ViDaStana's 5th anniversary, the growth and development service unit of the Puri Bunda Denpasar Mother and Child Hospital held a parenting class on July 30, 2023, at the Neo Hotel Denpasar Ballroom. The parenting class featured two speakers: Dr. I Gusti Agung Ngurah Sugitha Adnyana, Sp.A (K), a growth and development consultant, and Lyly Puspa Palupi S., M.Si., Psi. In her presentation, Dr. Sugitha explained that the final outcome of a child's growth and development is difficult to predict. However, the key to successful child development is stimulation and early detection. Stimulation provides children with the learning opportunities needed to enrich the network of brain cell connections. The more stimulation a child receives, the greater the opportunities for brain development. Therefore, as parents, it is important to understand how to provide appropriate stimulation according to their child's age and developmental stage. At the same time, Ms. Lyly added that the perspective of the child's environment can be used as an effective medium for stimulation. "The involvement of caregivers is essential in consistently providing stimulation appropriate to the child's age and developmental stage," he said. In addition to providing material, parents are also invited to participate in games that can be used as a way to stimulate children's dexterity in a fun way. Parenting class participants use this togetherness to interact directly with developmental experts in an interactive question and answer session.
